Welcome to the Department of Dining Services! We are excited to have you join the Dining Services Team. Below are payroll forms needed for your onboarding meeting, useful links, and resources available for new hires.

Dining Services Team Expectations Form 

Retirement- (For Regular Non-Exempt & Exempt Staff Only) 

Employees must select a retirement plan by their first day of work. If you are an exempt employee and a plan is not selected, the employee will default to the State Employees’/Teachers’ Alternate Pension System.

Supplemental Retirement Plans Available to all Staff 

All employees (contractual and regular) are eligible to participate in any of the Supplemental Retirement Accounts (SRA) available through the University of Maryland. Participation is voluntary.

Trainings to Complete as a New Hire: 

- TerrapinSTRONG- New hires will receive an email link to complete the onboarding modules within two weeks of the first day of employment.

- Responding Effectively to Discrimination and Sexual Misconduct: The Office of Civil Rights & Sexual Misconduct (OCRSM) will assign required online compliance training to new employees within 30 days of hire. All new employees will be assigned the Responding Effectively to Discrimination and Sexual Misconduct training.

- Security Awareness Training: “Defending Your Shell” is a basic cybersecurity awareness training created to fulfill the state of Maryland’s expectation that all employees receive cybersecurity awareness information each year. The material is broken up into five modules with corresponding quizzes that can be completed at your convenience.
